Good news, folx!
Framework® Homeownership’s Keep by Framework™ made it to the Top 25 finalists for the 2021 Ivory Prize for Housing Affordability.
But before we celebrate our nomination, let’s back up: What’s the Ivory Prize?
Now in its third year, the Ivory Prize recognizes ambitious, feasible, and large-scale solutions to housing affordability problems throughout the country. Candidates are measured in three categories: Finance; Construction and Design; and Public Policy and Regulatory Reform.
Put simply, it’s an annual award given to organizations who are doing great work in promoting affordable housing, defined as homes that cost less than 30% of their residents’ monthly income.
The 2021 Top 10 finalists will be released in April and final winners will be announced in May 2021. More than $200,000 in prize money will be distributed between at least three winners, with at least one chosen from each category.
The prize is awarded by the dedicated team at Ivory Innovations, an academic institution and foundation at the University of Utah’s David Eccles School of Business.
This year, Ivory Innovations is partnering with the Housing Lab at the Terner Center at UC Berkeley to send a top entrant through its startup accelerator program.
Previous winners include New York-based Rhino, which partners with building owners and managers to offer low-cost insurance as an alternative to cash security deposits, and Landed, which provides financial assistance to teachers and other essential workers who are ready to buy homes in or near the expensive cities they work in.
So, why did we qualify for this prestigious opportunity? Glad you asked.
Keep by Framework provides self-paced educational courses, in addition to tools, resources, and expert advice to help users navigate the stress, finances, time constraints, and unexpected events in the homebuying and homeowning process. Our human-centered approach aims to make homeowners feel informed, supported, calm, and confident in their decisions. Due to the value we provide, we are nominated in the Ivory Prize Finance category.
Since its launch in May 2019, more than 21,000 users have engaged with more than 23,000 lessons. In the last year, we’ve played a crucial role in providing updated, timely information to help homeowners close critical information gaps that are exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic.
We look forward to hearing the Ivory Prize selections in the next few months. Until then, we send a big ole “Congratulations!” to all the companies and organizations that made it into the Top 25.
Keep your fingers crossed for us!
